Technology Consulting: Equipment Procurement
It's unwise to pay too much,
but it's worse to pay too little.
When you pay too much, you lose a little money-that is all.
When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything,
because the thing you bought was incapable of doing
the thing it was bought to do.
The common law of business balance prohibits
paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done.
If you deal with the lowest bidder,
it is well to add something for the risk you run.
And if you do that,
you will have enough to pay for something better.
Quo Vadimus strongly believes that procurement is an important phase in the life cycle of a data processing environment. Selection, procurement and installation are some of the elements of IT deployment that requires extensive use of client's resources. Careful management of the procurement process mitigates some of these issues and ensures that standard equipment is supplied to customer sites and personnel allowing them to remain confident in the suitability and reliability of the equipment that they use in their work as well as controlling costs of training, maintenance and support. This is equally true for an outsourced engagement where Quo Vadimus would be carrying out the deployment.
Procurement services can be provided via our Corporate Procurement Team. The team can provide the following procurement based services:
Coordination of equipment procurement focusing as the liaison between the customer, appropriate management, corporate purchasing staff, and vendors
Distribution of product information and advice pertaining to product capabilities
Processing of all purchase orders for all products leased, purchased, standard or non standard
Coordination of product distribution and installation.
All services utilize the Quo Vadimus procurement processes to record and monitor procurement activities to ensure that service levels (including those for product installation) are consistently met.
